ICON 2026 - RECAP

ICON 2026 was a truly unforgettable experience that was the perfect way to cap off an incredible year! The Carolinas District had an incredible experience at the 2026 Key Club International Convention (ICON) in Dallas, where we joined thousands of Key Club members from around the world to celebrate leadership, service, and fellowship. Throughout the convention, our members attended engaging workshops, heard from inspiring speakers including award-winning actor Sofia Carson and Thirst Project Ambassador Terayle Hill, and participated in the House of Delegates, where we helped shape the future of Key Club International. Most importantly, we strengthened friendships within our district while connecting with Key Clubbers from across the globe, creating memories and relationships that will last long after the convention ended.

Our Carolinas District tour made the journey even more unforgettable as we traveled together to some of the South's most iconic destinations. From the thrills of Six Flags Over Georgia to exploring the Dallas World Aquarium, The Sixth Floor Museum, the George W. Bush Presidential Library, and the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, every stop brought new adventures and opportunities to bond as a district. We wrapped up our trip with a memorable visit to Memphis, where we enjoyed a Mississippi River cruise, authentic barbecue, and live jazz. The 2026 ICON Tour was an amazing opportunity to grow as leaders, strengthen our Carolinas Key Club family, and create lifelong memories together.

DCON 2026 - RECAP

DCON 2026 was an energizing, impactful experience that set the tone for the upcoming year! With over 200 members in attendance, attendees engaged in insightful workshops, exciting networking experiences, and empowering leadership opportunities. Voting delegates attended Saturday’s House of Delegates session and voted on the 2026-2027 executive board after hearing each candidate’s vision for the District.

Held at the Charlotte Hilton University Place hotel, surrounded by shopping, restaurants, and coffee spots within walking distance, attendees also had free time to explore the beautiful Boardwalk area and make memories with fellow Carolinas Key Club members. Guest speakers ranged from former Carolinas Key Club governors to Circle K International leaders to an award-winning country singer! Throughout the various activities offered, district convention attendees gained full immersion into our “Saddle Up for Service” Western theme.

New Club officer Information Needed!

Message from your District Secretary

Dear Carolinas Key Clubs,

As your club officers get elected, it is imperative that we have as up-to-date contact information as possible. In order to ensure that we are able to share information with as many members as possible, we need your help. If your club held 2026-2027 club officer elections prior to schools being let out, please complete and submit this form: http://www.carolinaskeyclub.org/officerinfo. If you have not yet elected new officers, do not fret! We understand that towards the end of the school year, a lot of exciting events are occurring. However, we do encourage that you hold club elections as soon as possible. If your club elections will not be held before the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, please attempt to give your Lieutenant Governor an estimate of when you plan to hold elections and be sure to fill out the form as soon as possible! We are looking forward to working with you this year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at: secretary2627@carolinaskeyclub.org.

Yours in Service,

Natalia

Key Club Dues & Kiwanis Engage

All members of Key Club International are required to pay annual dues in order to remain active. For clubs in the Carolinas District, the total dues amount is $16.50 per member:

  • $10.00 goes to Key Club International

  • $6.50 stays within the Carolinas District to support district programs and events

These dues are submitted through your club advisor, who is responsible for updating your club’s roster and submitting payments using Kiwanis Engage—the new online platform that has replaced the old Membership Update Center (MUC).

Dues Deadlines:

  • Early Bird Deadline: November 1

  • Final Deadline: December 1

  • Absolute Deadline: February 1
Clubs that do not submit dues by February 1 risk suspension or even loss of their charter.

More detailed information, including instructions for logging into Kiwanis Engage and submitting dues, can be found on the Carolinas District website under Resources > Dues.

Trouble With the Transition? Here’s What You Need to Know

Kiwanis International recently launched Kiwanis Engage as the new system for dues submission and roster management. While this new platform will ultimately offer better functionality and a modernized experience, the transition has come with some challenges.

What’s Been Happening:

  • Many users have reported login issues when trying to access the Engage platform for the first time.

  • All advisors must use the "Forgot Password" feature the first time they attempt to log in. If you don’t receive a reset email, contact Member Services at memberservices@kiwanis.org to have your email properly linked.

  • There have been ongoing technical issues with Engage, and some features like adding new members may not be fully functional until mid-to-late September.

If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to:

  • District Treasurer Jadan Rounds – treasurer2627@carolinaskeyclub.org

  • District Administrator J. Scott Johnson – jscottjohnson@carolinaskeyclub.org
