Happy Fall, Carolinas Key Club Members!
Fall is an exciting time for Key Club. We have our first meetings, collect dues, and kick off another year of serving our communities in the world's largest high school service organization. What is your club planning for the year's most colorful season?
Along with a fresh start, autumn brings lots of opportunities for your club- I'd like to tell you a little bit more about 2 very important ones.
First, Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) Grant Applications are due on October 15th. YOF is an endowed fund which gives your club the chance to do really, really cool stuff that may not be possible otherwise. Until this year, $0.50 of your dues were deposited into a fund to provide grants to clubs all over the country who want to make a difference in their community, but don't have all of the funds to do so. The thinking behind YOF is, "if you'll provide the man-power, we'll provide the funding". However, in order to recieve a grant, your club must submit the detailed application by October 15- which isn't far away! Mark your calendars, and email your LTG for an application. Don't let this opportunity pass you by.
Finally, Key Club's tried and true favorite: Trick or Treat for UNICEF. Instead of asking for candy this year, go around with a ToT for UNICEF box, and request spare change. Explain Key Club and Eliminate to your neighbors, and see if they mind throwing whatever's in their pockets into your box- KCI's fundraising totals are a major contributor to the Eliminate project annually, and save so many lives with so little effort. So ask your club advisor about boxes, and get out there in your masks to save some babies!
2014-2015 has been a great year for Key Club International- let's finish it strong.
Enjoy this beautiful season, and happy serving!
